Earl Cox

After a career of more than three decades in advertising, Earl Cox is a valued advisor to Brand Federation’s leadership, staff, and consulting teams.

He has a knack for simplifying the complicated, mentoring colleagues, and creative thinking that moves strategies and clients forward. Let’s get to know him.

What is your role at Brand Federation?

I’m a Senior Brand Strategy Consultant and frequent advisor to Managing Partners Kelly O’Keefe, Matt Williams and Rian Chandler-Dovis on Brand Federation’s growth plans.

What work are you doing now and what about it inspires you?

I’m writing a series of Brand Federation blog posts on The Commodity Trap: How to Succeed is a Sea of Sameness. Read the posts here and here. Writing them inspires me because it combines strategic and creative thinking.

What superpower do you bring your clients and colleagues?

I have a knack for simplifying the complicated and am a catalyst for co-creation with colleagues, clients, and consumers.

Why did you join the Brand Federation team?

I’ve long known and admired the 3 Managing Partners. So, it was a no-brainer to join the team. And, I think the Brand Federation business model is brilliant.

Have you read a book (or seen a movie, or listened to a podcast) lately that you’d recommend?

The movie “Don’t Look Up” uses the power of metaphor to brilliantly convey an important message in a captivating way. I recommend it because metaphors can be a powerful tool for brand builders too.

What gets your energy and time outside of work?

I do pro bono marketing work for non-profits CARITAS and CancerLINC. I’m driven to help people who are helping people.
